Deanston 28 Year Old is a single malt from the Highlands, distilled in October 1991 and bottled in 2020 at 45%. It is a limited edition of 1,402 bottles, one of eight single malts released by Distell in August 2020.
After long maturation in refill casks, the whisky spent about two years in Muscat wine casks, from June 2016. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour, and has a rich copper hue.
On the nose there is sweet perfume, peach and cereal, and fruit crumble. The palate is full-bodied and mouth-coating, with oily citrus, and the finish is short with a hint of cocoa.
