Deanston – Dragon's Milk Stout Cask Finish (75cl, 50.5%)

Deanston Dragon's Milk Stout Cask Finish is a Highland single malt from Deanston Distillery in Doune, Perthshire, bottled at 50.5%. It is a limited-edition, transatlantic collaboration with New Holland Brewing Company of Michigan. The whisky was distilled in 2012 and matured in re-charred whisky casks. It then spent around six months in barrels that had held Dragon's Milk, New Holland's bourbon barrel-aged stout. The nose is fresh-cut grass, floral and malty, with red apple. The palate is quite sweet and spicy, with white pepper, chilli, chocolate and roasted malt, and the finish brings lemon, white pepper, sugary sweetness and nutty oak.
