This is a Highland single malt from Deanston, distilled in 2012 and bottled at 50.5% in a 75cl bottle. It is a limited collaboration between Deanston Distillery and New Holland Brewing Company of Michigan.
The whisky was matured in re-charred whisky casks, then spent its last six months in casks that had held New Holland's Dragon's Milk, a stout aged in bourbon barrels.
The nose offers red apple and cherry blossom, then biscuity malt with chocolate and roasted grain. The palate is biscuity and cakey, with floral malt and peppery heat. The finish is medium to long, with candied orange, bitter cacao and burnt sugar.
