This is a 20 year old organic single malt from Deanston, bottled at 49.7% in a 70cl bottle. Deanston was the world's first certified organic single malt, and the barley here is 100% organic and Scottish. It was distilled straight after the distillery's silent season.
The whisky was matured in organic, re-charred American oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colouring, and 2,826 bottles have been released.
The official notes describe a nose of vanilla, caramel, cedar and ripe fruit. The palate is rich but dry, with honey spice, stone fruits, toasted oak and freshly cut grass, and the finish is long, with desiccated coconut and a touch of cocoa.
