Decadent Drinks 17 Year Old Notable Age Statements 06 2001-2006 Blended Malt (2023) (70cl, 53%)

This is a 17 year old blended malt from Decadent Drinks, part of its Notable Age Statements series, bottled in 2023 at 53% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines two sherry casks: a 2006 Aultmore from a first-fill sherry cask and a 2001 blended malt from a sherry butt. The 17 year age statement reflects the younger of the two components, so the average age of the blend is higher. The series plays with the idea of the non-age-statement whisky, giving it a 'notable' age statement with a note of satire. The tasting notes describe a sherried character of burnt caramel, raisins and milk chocolate.
