Del Maguey San Jose Rio Minas is a limited edition mezcal from the Vino de Mezcal series, made in the remote Northern Mixteca Alta region of Oaxaca, Mexico. It comes from the village of Rio Minas, reached by a long journey down rough dirt roads.
The nose is bright and sweet, with papaya and ripe peaches. The palate is lightly sweet and strongly floral, in the manner of roses and violets, and closes with pepper and herbal notes of Hoja Santa and eucalyptus. The finish is refreshing.
