Devils River – Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 58.5%)

Devils River Barrel Strength is a Texas bourbon bottled undiluted at 58.5% ABV (117 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is made from a high-rye mash of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills and proofed with limestone-filtered Devils River water. It is chill-filtered. It was released in autumn 2018 as a nod to the way bourbon was drunk before the 20th century. The nose brings pepper and oak with ripe apples, pears and vanilla. On the palate come honey, oak and caramel, then a distinct peppery spice. The finish is clean and lingering.
