Devils River Bourbon is a Texas bourbon bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle, first released in April 2017. It carries no age statement.
The mash is high in rye: 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. It is distilled in copper pot stills, aged in deeply charred oak and proofed with limestone-filtered water from the Devils River in southwest Texas. The whiskey is chill-filtered.
The nose is slightly peppery, with ripe fruit, vanilla and nutmeg. The palate starts boldly peppery before opening into oak, honey and caramel. The finish is warm, sweet and smooth, with a soft mouthfeel.
