A blended Scotch whisky in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is assembled from malt and grain whiskies that are each 12 years old, with Aberfeldy single malt at its core.
After blending, the whisky goes back into oak casks for a further period of maturation. This double ageing is meant to let the component whiskies marry more fully.
The nose shows caramel, honey and orange peel, with vanilla and a little dried fruit emerging later. On the palate it is creamy, with vanilla, caramel, orchard fruit, toffee and a faint thread of peat smoke. The finish is smooth, with honey, gentle oak and dried fruit.
