Dewar's French Cask Smooth is an 8 year old blended Scotch whisky in a 75cl bottle. This is the fifth release in the series, finished in apple brandy (calvados) casks.
The nose opens with apple peel and pithy orange, then green apple, marshmallow, Turkish delight, meringue, vanilla, barley and spring flowers. The palate has a good bite of green apple, peppery spice and cinnamon, moving to stroopwafel, ground almond, malt and chocolate ice cream. Plenty of spice carries through the finish.
