Dexter Three Wood is a high-rye straight bourbon, bottled at 50.3% in a 750ml bottle. It was matured for between two and a half and four years.
The whiskey is distilled in Indiana from a mashbill with 36% rye, then finished at Brain Brew Distillery in Newtown, Ohio. The finishing uses three woods: vintage 200-year-old oak, maple and cherry.
The nose brings warm chestnuts, toffee, vanilla, baked apple crumble and maple sugar. The palate is round and spicy, with honeycomb, caramel, stone fruit, cherry, black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long, with rye spice, cherry and baking spices.
