Dexter Three Wood is a straight bourbon from the United States, made as a tribute to Edmund Dexter, a barrel blender of the 1800s. It is inspired by the style of whiskey he might have shared with Charles Dickens during his 1842 visit.
The mash bill is corn, rye and malted barley, and the bourbon then receives a WoodCraft finish with reclaimed 200-year-old oak, maple and cherry wood. It is bottled at 50.3% ABV.
The nose is toasted oak, warm caramel and maple sweetness. The palate brings vanilla, dark cherry, baking spice and soft char, and the finish is smooth and layered.
