Dictador XO Platinum Rum (40%)

An XO rum blended from rums aged 25 to 35 years. It is made from first-press sugar cane juice rather than molasses. The juice ferments for at least 60 hours, with 30% distilled in an alambic and 70% in a column still. Ageing takes place in bourbon and sherry casks from Jerez and port casks, with the casks re-charred to bring out caramel, smoke and vanilla notes. It shows notes of honey, vanilla, toffee, oak and caramel. On the palate there are toffee, intense vanilla, caramel and coffee, with a good balance between oak notes and classic rum notes. The finish is very long, with a light sweetness that complements the cask notes.
