Dingle – Gheimhridh Single Malt Irish Whiskey 2023 (70cl, 50.5%)

Dingle Gheimhridh is a single malt Irish whiskey from Dingle in County Kerry, bottled at 50.5% ABV. Its full name, Grianstad an Gheimhridh, means "the stopping of the sun". It is the winter solstice release and the fifth in the distillery's Wheel of the Year series, which marks divisions of the Celtic calendar. The whiskey was matured in bourbon casks and finished in tawny port casks. It is an unfiltered 2023 release of 7,800 bottles. The nose is described as ice cream soda, blackcurrant jelly, banana caramel, pomegranate, cinnamon toast and warm ginger. The palate brings red berry fruits, dark chocolate, cloves and soft fudge, and the finish moves from mellowing spice to a lingering sweetness.
