Doc Swinson's Blender's Cut is a cask strength bourbon at 57.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the unfinished base blend from which the Alter Ego line starts, bottled without any finishing casks.
It combines two MGP straight bourbons, one with a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley and the other 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. Both spent at least five years in new American white oak before being blended and bottled in Ferndale, Washington.
On the nose the notes are stone fruits, vanilla, pecans, oak and fresh cream. The palate brings apricots, brown sugar, peanuts and toasted almond over charred oak, with dark chocolate-covered cherries later on.
