Doc Swinson's 'Funky Drummer' is a straight rye whiskey from Washington state, part of the Exploratory Cask Series. It is bottled at 50.95% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey is finished in Jamaican rum casks, which add a sweet, tropical side to the spiciness of the rye.
The nose offers molasses, caramel and ripe tropical fruit. On the palate, rye spice sits alongside the sweetness of the rum. The finish is long and warming.
