Indigène is a French single malt whisky made in the Alps, in the Trièves. It is produced from 100% organically grown malted barley, cultivated on the domaine and malted there before brewing and a long fermentation.
The whisky is a blend of spirits from several vintages, distilled twice in a wood-fired still. It is aged in a range of French oak casks, including former cognac, armagnac and wine casks.
On the nose there are candied fruit, white peach and pear, with woody notes and a touch of almond. The palate moves from cereal to floral and fruity flavours with a slight salinity. The finish is long and soft, with a creamy texture and notes of citrus, chocolate and grain.
