Clau de la Roche is a Vin de France from Domaine Pierre Ménard in Anjou, made from Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically.
The cuvée comes only from the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines, chosen for how well they performed in the year. It is aged in one barrel and one sandstone jar.
The name uses Clau in place of Clos. Clos is barred to wines outside an appellation, which is where a pure Sauvignon in Anjou falls, and Clos de la Roche is also a Burgundy grand cru.
