This is an off-dry Riesling Kabinett from Dönnhoff in the Nahe, grown in the Leistenberg vineyard. The site is steep, with clay-rich slate soils and a south-easterly exposure, and is classified Erste Lage. The grapes are selected by hand, and the wine ferments and ages partly in stainless steel and partly in large German oak casks. It has 56 g/l of residual sugar and 9.5 g/l of total acidity, and is closed with a screwcap.
The nose offers wisteria, citrus honey, green melon, lime and lemon curd over a flinty minerality. The palate is soft and fresh, with gooseberry and lychee and a silky texture. The finish is clean and long, with a trace of almond.
