Dönnhoff Riesling QbA 2022 Nahe

An off-dry 2022 Riesling from Dönnhoff, made from ripe, carefully selected grapes grown on steep vineyards in the middle of the Nahe valley. The soils are rich in porphyry, quartzite and slate. The wine ferments and matures partly in steel and partly in traditional German oak casks of 1,200 and 2,400 litres, known as Stück and Doppelstück. The nose shows lime zest, white currant, fresh white flowers and green apple over a stony, lightly smoky minerality. On the palate it is soft and refreshing, with gooseberry and green apple carried by lively acidity. The finish is long, clean and gently smoky.
