Dorothy Arzner Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

This is a three-year-old straight rye made grain to glass in Sonoma County, California, for Great Women Spirits, the Francis Ford Coppola family collection honouring remarkable women. It is bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle and named after Dorothy Arzner, the only woman directing films in Hollywood's Golden Age. The mash is 70% rye and 30% malted barley, including caramel and Munich malts. It was twice distilled on a hybrid still, aged in new charred American white oak barrels and proofed with Napa Valley spring water. It is rich amber, with dark chocolate, dried cherry, rye bread and leather on the nose. The palate offers blackberry, roasted oak, black pepper and brioche, and the finish is rich and lingering.
