A rum from Williams & Humbert, aged first for ten years in the Caribbean in American oak barrels that previously held bourbon, then for a further five years in Jerez in barrels that previously held Don Guido Pedro Ximénez sherry.
On the nose it shows ripe fruit, molasses and vanilla, with wood and spice notes. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with dark chocolate, dates, raisin and hints of coffee and tobacco, and a long, pleasantly sweet, aromatic finish.
It is best enjoyed neat, or as the base for sophisticated cocktails.
