Douglas Laing Big Peat Blended Malt Scotch

Big Peat is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, made entirely from single malt whiskies distilled on the island of Islay. Caol Ila contributes sweetness, Bowmore balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen a degree of elegance. It is built around the peaty, smoky character Islay is known for, with ash, beach bonfires, coal dust and tar running through it. The nose is fresh, salty and clean, turning to sweet malt dried over peat. On the palate come ashes, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys. The finish is long, with salty, tangy liquorice, smoke, bonfire ashes and a phenolic note.
