This is a 25 year old Clynelish from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, a single malt drawn from one refill butt. The whisky was distilled in October 1996 and bottled in June 2022, producing 487 bottles.
It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.1% ABV, without added colouring and without chill filtration, and comes in a wooden presentation box.
Candied apple, sticky dates and warming spice lead on the nose. The palate brings chocolate orange and honeyed barley with cloves and nutmeg, and the waxy finish lingers with ripe red fruit and pepper.
