This is an 8 year old Glen Elgin single malt from Speyside, bottled by Dràm Mòr at a cask strength of 56.8% in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled in 2014 and matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel until it was bottled in 2022. The colour is natural, the whisky is non-chill-filtered, and the outturn was 244 bottles.
The nose is spirity, with lemongrass and a spice that could be cardamom or white pepper, plus a touch of coffee. On the palate come vanilla, ripe yellow pear, chilli flakes, gentian root and butter, bitter yet lively. The finish is soft buttery popcorn with sherbet.
