Duemani Altrovino 2015 Costa Toscana

Duemani's second wine, made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Fermentation takes place separately for each variety in temperature-controlled concrete vats, with a small part of the Cabernet Franc fermented in 500 and 600 litre terracotta amphorae. After blending in November, the wine matures in conical French oak barrels for 8-10 months. There is no fining or filtration. The result combines Merlot's direct fruit with Cabernet Franc's balsamic and lightly tannic notes, with spicy nuances such as mint and tobacco wrapped in cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit.
