A 14-year-old Bunnahabhain from Islay, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023 by Duncan Taylor as part of its Octave range. It is a single cask release of 81 bottles at a cask strength of 54.5%, in a 70cl bottle, natural in colour and non-chill-filtered.
The whisky spent its final three months in a sherry octave, a cask of about 60 litres used for a short finish. Before the octave it showed sea air, lemon sponge, vanilla, ginger and an oily texture. Afterwards the notes turned to dried figs, ginger biscuits, gentle sherry, raspberry coulis and salted caramel.
