This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Glentauchers, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023 by Duncan Taylor for its Octave range. It is bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill filtration. Only 79 bottles were filled.
The Octave range finishes whisky briefly in ex-sherry octaves of about 60 litres. This one spent its final 3 months in a sherry octave.
Before the octave it showed apple strudel, cream, raisins, custard creams and gooseberries. Afterwards the notes moved to butterscotch, apricot jam, sherry, toasted oak and aromatic spice.
