Eagle Rare 17 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, and part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. This is the 2025 release.
The bourbon spent 17 years in new American oak barrels. It is bottled at 101 proof, or 50.5% ABV, a strength that pays tribute to the early Eagle Rare bottlings.
The nose offers dried dark fruits, vanilla, oak, tobacco and toasted almonds. On the palate come rich caramel, leather, dark cherry, baking spice and cocoa, followed by a long, silky finish of balanced oak, spice and a touch of dark chocolate.
