Eagle Rare is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery and aged for no less than ten years, in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is honeyed oak with toasted almonds, orange peel, vanilla bean and a little leather. On the palate come caramelised sugar, dark chocolate, baking spice and charred oak, with a silky, balanced mouthfeel. The finish is long and warm, with toffee, spice and seasoned wood.
