Eden Mill The Art of St. Andrews 2023 is the latest in the distillery's annual limited-edition series pairing Head Distiller Scott Ferguson's whisky with a local artist. This year's packaging is by Scottish illustrator Jill Calder, who drew on local flora and fauna, the Eden Estuary coastline and the new distillery building.
Inside is a lightly peated Lowland single malt at 46.5% ABV, in a 700ml bottle. It was matured in bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez casks, then finished in ex-Grande Champagne Cognac casks. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose is gentle peat smoke with sweet, candied grape and apricot. The palate moves from smoke and juicy fruit to floral, earthy peat, and the finish is sweet fruit and dry oaky spice with a touch of char.
