This is Edradour 12 Year Old Cask Strength, Batch 8, from one of Scotland's smallest distilleries. It was matured entirely in Oloroso sherry butts, in the rich, sherried Highland style the distillery is known for.
It is bottled at natural cask strength with no colouring added. Dried fruit, dark chocolate and spiced oak lead the nose, and the palate is velvety with sweet raisin richness. The finish is long and warming. A little water opens it up further.
