Edradour – 1999 21 Year Old Bordeaux Finish (70cl)

This is a single malt from Edradour in the Scottish Highlands, distilled in 1999 and matured for 21 years. Part of that time was spent in Bordeaux red wine casks, which add soft tannins and fruit. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The nose shows ripe red fruit such as cherry and redcurrant, with gentle spice, vanilla and toasted wood. On the palate, sweetness and freshness meet cassis, bitter cocoa and a little white pepper, leading to a persistent finish.
