This is a peated single malt from Edradour in Pitlochry, in the Highlands, bottled under the Ballechin name as a 2004 18 year old. It is a small batch bottling at cask strength, in a 70cl bottle. The long maturation in oak is described as adding depth and softness while leaving the peat and smoke in the lead. The nose brings burnt wood, ash and smoke with liquorice, vanilla and a hint of dried fruit. The palate is full, balancing mineral saltiness with malty sweetness, and the smoke in the finish is lasting without being overbearing.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
