This is a 12 year old Highland single malt from Edradour, one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, in Pitlochry. It is bottled at 46% ABV. The whisky is aged in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then given a finishing period in Oloroso sherry wood.
The nose is stewed raisins, dried cherry, honeyed malt and warm spice, with cocoa and toasted almond. The palate is full, rich and creamy, with dark fruit, caramel, toffee, malt loaf, fig, baked apple and clove. The finish is long and warming, softly spiced, with dried fruit, sweet malt and polished oak.
