El Tesoro Mundial Collection Knob Creek Añejo Tequila (75cl, 40%)

This is an añejo tequila from El Tesoro, part of the Mundial Collection and made in collaboration with Knob Creek. It is additive free and distilled at NOM 1139. The agaves are Tequilana Weber from the Los Altos region of Jalisco. They are cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed with a tahona and fermented in open wooden tanks, then distilled twice in copper pots. Ageing takes place in American white oak, in used whisky barrels. The nose brings roasted agave with hints of spice and citrus. On the palate come caramel, vanilla and oak, and the warmth lingers afterwards.
