Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask (70cl, 54.5%)

Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask is a blended malt from Elixir Distillers, combining smoky single malts from two Islay distilleries, one on the south coast and one on the north. The distilleries are identified only by elemental symbols. The whisky is matured only in first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, and bottled at 54.5% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The nose brings tropical fruit, including pineapple, banana and coconut, over vanilla sugar, oak and bonfire embers. The palate is syrupy and dense, with peat smoke, dark chocolate, vanilla, lemon and toasted pistachio. The finish is long and oily, with vanilla, oak and tailing smoke.
