Elijah Craig 18 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled by Heaven Hill and bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Each bottle holds the contents of a single barrel, aged for at least 18 years in new charred American oak.
The brand is named after the Reverend Elijah Craig, often credited with pioneering the ageing of whiskey in charred oak barrels.
The nose brings vanilla cream, caramelised sugar and toasted oak, with a little pear or red apple peel. On the palate come honeyed malt, dark chocolate, dried cherry and charred oak, with cinnamon or white pepper. The finish is long, with oak tannin, caramel and baking spice.
