Elijah Craig 21 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon drawn from a single barrel and bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof). This bottle comes from barrel no. 14 and was bottled on 25 May 2016, as shown on its label.
Twenty-one years in the barrel gives it a deep oak character alongside layered sweetness.
The nose is mature oak, vanilla bean, dark caramel, dried cherry, leather and warm baking spice. On the palate come caramel, seasoned oak, brown sugar, toasted nuts, cinnamon, tobacco and dried fruit. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice, leather and caramel sweetness.
