Elijah Craig 21 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery, bottled at 47% (94 proof) in a 750ml bottle. Each bottle comes from a single barrel, and the whiskey was aged for 21 years in Kentucky rickhouses.
The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
It is described as having toasted oak, leather, burnt caramel, dark chocolate and roasted nuts on the nose. The palate offers molasses, milk chocolate, baking spices, vanilla and toasted almonds. The finish is long, with warming pepper, oak tannins and sweet tobacco.
