A 10 year old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey from Elijah Craig, Batch H-04 of its Barrel Proof Rye. It is bottled uncut and straight from the barrel at 62.2% ABV (124.4 proof).
Ten years of maturation gives the rye deeper oak, caramelised sweetness and mature spice, while keeping the lively character of Kentucky rye.
The nose is caramel and vanilla with mature oak, dark fruit, rye spice, cinnamon and clove. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, with peppery rye spice, toasted oak and baking spices. The finish is long and warming, growing drier as it fades.
