Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Rye 10 Year Old Batch H-04 (62.2%)

This is a 10 year old straight from the barrel rye whiskey from Elijah Craig, bottled as batch H-04 at 124.4 proof (62.2% ABV) without filtration. It is a barrel proof release, so it reaches the glass at full cask strength. It can be taken neat or with a few drops of water. The nose brings rich oak, caramel, vanilla, baking spice and a warming rye heat. On the palate there is brown sugar and vanilla with toasted oak, peppery rye spice and hints of dark fruit, followed by a long finish of cinnamon, charred oak and sweet spice.
