This is Batch A124 of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, a Kentucky bourbon aged 10.9 years. It is bottled uncut, straight from the barrel, and without chill filtering. Each release carries its own age statement, proof and batch number, so the character shifts subtly from batch to batch. The colour is a deep amber. Caramel, toasted oak and fruit notes lead on the nose. The palate shows rich vanilla, butterscotch and caramel, with black pepper and cinnamon spice. The finish is layered, fading slowly and lingering as it cools.
