This is a nine-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Elijah Craig, a private barrel selection from Bardstown, Kentucky. It comes from barrel number 6879511 and is bottled at full barrel proof, 63.3% ABV. The mash is corn, rye and malted barley, and the whiskey is aged in deeply charred American oak.
The nose offers spice, vanilla, orchard fruits, honey and soft chocolate. On the palate there is oak, cream, char, smoke and layered sweetness, and the finish is long and intense, with plenty of warmth.
