Elijah Craig Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, in a 750ml bottle at 47% ABV. It carries no age statement and is blended from barrels typically aged between 8 and 12 years.
The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, and the whiskey is matured in Level 3 charred new American oak barrels. It is named after Reverend Elijah Craig, the 18th-century Baptist minister and distiller.
The nose offers vanilla and caramel with baking spice, toasted oak and a hint of citrus zest. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, honey, cinnamon and dark fruit, and the finish is long and warming with caramel, charred oak and subtle pepper.
