Elijah Craig Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, bottled at 47% in a 375ml bottle. It carries no age statement.
Each batch draws on around 200 barrels, with whiskeys between 8 and 12 years old, all matured in charred new American oak. The mashbill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
The nose is honey and sweet corn, with vanilla, brown sugar and a trace of cinnamon. The palate is buttery, with caramel, roasted nuts, tropical fruit and orange, kept in check by dry oak. The finish is long and sweet, with butterscotch and roasted corn fading into warm spice.
