Elijah Craig Straight Rye Whiskey is a Kentucky straight rye, bottled by Heaven Hill in Bardstown at 47% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash is 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley, and the whiskey is extra-aged in new charred oak.
It was launched in January 2020 and was the first rye to carry the Elijah Craig name.
The nose offers dark chocolate, spices and a hint of smoke. The palate is rich with baking spices and honey, with a smooth oak influence. The finish is long and lingering, the rye's spicy sharpness balanced by the sweetness of the corn.
