Elijah Craig Straight Rye is a Kentucky rye made by Heaven Hill, bottled at 47% in a 37.5cl bottle.
It uses the Elijah Craig mash bill of 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley, the same base as the Elijah Craig bourbon.
The nose combines lemon and orange peel with floral rye spice, honey and soft vanilla. The palate is zesty, with lemon zest and cardamom, then caramel, cinnamon and allspice, on a buttery, slightly oily texture. The finish is spicy and dry, with baking spice and pepper over oak tannins.
