This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Elijah Craig, bottled at 47% in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle.
It starts as fully matured Elijah Craig Small Batch, which then spends a further period of ageing in new oak barrels that have been custom toasted and flash charred. The mash bill is corn, malted barley and rye.
The nose brings caramel, vanilla and toasted oak, with hints of baking spices and cocoa. On the palate come butterscotch, roasted nuts and rich toffee, followed by a warm, spicy finish.
