Elijah Craig Toasted Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whisky from Elijah Craig, made by Heaven Hill, bottled at 47% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Fully matured straight rye is given a second maturation in custom toasted new oak barrels. The barrels are toasted rather than char-finished, which adds brown sugar and toasted oak sweetness over the rye's natural spice.
The nose combines brown sugar, cinnamon and toasted oak with rye spice. The palate is warm and rounded, with baking spice, vanilla, dark caramel and a peppery rye core. The finish is long, with toasted oak and lingering spice.
